Madyson's Halloween Party

What a fun Day! I am one of the class Mom's and lucky me was chosen for the Party committee! I have worked so hard to make this party awesome for the kiddos! We started the day with fun games...Witch Hat Toss, Halloween BINGO, Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin, and Bobbing for Donuts! Then the kids lined up for the Halloween Parade, a great tradition at Lafayette! The parade starts with the pre-schoolers and ends with the sixth graders! Then we came back in for "Batty about Reading"...read Halloween stories while we got lunch ready! Our Halloween lunch was a HUGE HIT...Worms on a Bun(Hot dogs), Witch Fingers(Cheetos), Spiders(Peanut butter crackers with pretzel legs and raisin eyes), Apples, and Cupcakes! Then each one got a goodie bag!

WHEW...I am exhausted...Now on to Zach's Party...and to get ready for the Potluck at our house tomorrow night for Mady's class...with 34 people!!! OH...and we still have to go TRICK-OR-TREATING tonight!!

My little helper and I made homemade Apple Bread today! It was YUMM-O! BIG HIT!

We sent Papa home with 20 lbs, he shared some with Aunt Helen! So we really only have had 20 lbs! We have made Apple Crisp, Apple Bran Muffin, Apple Pancakes, Apple Bread! Apples have been in almost EVERY lunch and/or Snack! I decorated and sent in Apples for both kids Halloween Parties! I am actually sad to say we ONLY have about 10 apples left! Pumpkin Carving

We walked over to the Broad Branch Market to pick out our family Pumpkin to carve!! The kids chose a great one!! While Mommy cooked dinner Daddy and the kids worked hard on their Pumpkin! Zach got a Pumpkin Carving book on his field trip and I thought they would choose a design from the book...BUT they decided to draw their own face! It's the most unique Jack-O-Lantern ...EVER!!! Oh...and they put their names on it so everyone would know it was our house!! Too cute!! We roasted the pumpkin seed...a little sprinkle of salt...and YUMMO!!! Happy Fall!!!

It's absolutely beautiful! Reminds me of the churches in Europe!

Apple Picking

What an amazing experience!!! None of us have ever been apple picking...so today...Me, Peter, Papa, Mady and Zach went!! We snacked on the most delicious apple fritters and munched on popcorn! Then we made our way to the orchard! We picked Fuji
apples! The kids keep taking a bite of the apple they picked to see if it was tasty!!! We had a lot of little bites out of apples!! I think Zach ate 10 apples that day!! We had so much fun!! We picked 40 lbs of apples...YES!! What a fabulous day!!
