Best Part of Today...

As I do every night, I checked on Mady and Zach, one last kiss...tuck them in...watch them sleep...and count my blessings before I go to bed.

Mommy hood was NOT fun today...there was tons of arguing, complaining, whining, crying, not listening, fighting, screaming...all day long...it started when they woke up and ended when they closed their precious little eyes! I wish I had magic Happy dust to sprinkle on them when they have days like this...

Our day at home...

As I woke up today I had a wave of sadness drowning me...WHY...because in a few short days Mady will start school! Don't get me wrong...I am very excited she is starting a new adventure in her life...I am just sad I won't have her with me all day enjoying the small little things we love to do together! Also, who is going to help me entertain crazy man...Zach!

So we spent the day...making cupcakes, talking a walk to a new market, playing games, watching t.v., picking our new red ripe tomato, making homemade pizza, coloring, playing, going to the park, decorating cupcakes, but mostly...having fun together!

Butterfly Pavilion

Butterflies eat healthy...too

Today we finally made it to the Butterfly Pavilion at the Museum of Natural History! Our trip started out rough...as I was quickly opening our double jogger and trying to move out of peoples way as I exited the Metro, I jammed Mady's poor finger in the frame!!!!!OUCH!!! How bad did I fell...Horrible! After lots of hugs, some ice cream, and Mommy making sure I didn't break her finger we made our way in...
Mady had tons of fun...she spotted many kinds of Butterflies...including her favorite...The Monarch Butterfly! I was lucky enough to have one land on my arm!
At one point I realized Zach was being really quite...(this child is NEVER quite...he is either talking, or making some kind of sound effect...he is REALLY noisy) I look at him and he is dodging the butterflies(there where 300-500 in there)! He looked at me and said he wanted to go home! It was actually really funny...Zach afraid of Butterflies...Seriously!!!

Special Gift for Mady and Zach

Mady and Zach were so excited to see that they had received mail from Papa Pete! What a BIG surprise!! Mady got the coolest Radio/CD alarm clock...a gift from her Papa as she starts Kindergarten...she absolutely LOVES it!!!! What a thoughtful gift from her Papa!

Zach also got a gift from his Papa Pete, and he LOVES it! A Fireman coloring book, and a watercolor painting book! He wanted to paint and color NOW!! But Mommy suggested we do it on Monday when we get home from taking Mady to school!
Thanks Papa Pete!!!! We love you!!

Panda News

Sadly, we just learned that The National Zoo will not have the addition of a new baby Panda.

Meet Ms. Apella

Today Zachary got a home visit from his new Preschool Teacher, Ms. Apella , this morning! I was actually quite surprised to hear that the school did this. It is done to meet the child in a comfortable setting for them, to get to know him and our family, and to give us the opportunity to talk to her about any questions we may have! She is a soft spoken, gentle, affectionate, warm person! Zachary gave her a big hug when she walked in our home! He also gave her a picture he drew and a rock he painted for her...she loved her gifts! She brought pictures to share with him of the classroom, playground, different rooms at the school and of some of the fun activities he will get to do in her class...including field trips, to the petting zoo, pumpkin patch and library! She even took the time to read Zach a book he brought over to show him! We are looking forward to him starting in September!
