Mady made a goal...check out the look on Zach's face!
Last Sunday Peter and the kids went to Modell's to get Zachary the shin guards he needed for soccer. They came home with freaking roller skates! WHAT!!! O.K. When Mommy buys the kids toys, games, etc... I purchase things they can play with and mostly entertain themselves with... NOT DADDY!!! If it is sports related...and they want it...it's theirs...! "Babe...it will help Zach learn to skate so he can play Hockey" Peter explains to me after questioning his purchase?????
O.K.!!! NEVER mind the fact neither one of them have ever been on SKATES!!!
So...This entire week I have had a blast playing "Hockey" with the kids on the front porch every evening! I am so proud of Mady and Zach!!! For NEVER having been on Roller skates they have done fabulous!!! I will say it was a little rough in the beginning...but they have truly impressed me with their effort and skill! Daddy has been in NYC this week,(and since we are no longer used to him traveling and have missed him so very much) we can't wait to show him how we have mastered skating and playing Hockey tomorrow!!

Mady and Zack have inherited some hockey genes from their great uncle Hank Petrousek. Uncle Hank was a professional hockey player for a short time for the Detroit Red Wings. Also, his son Clark was a semi-pro hockey player with a very promising career until he lost a leg in an automobile accident.
My cousin Doug Petrousek played AAA ball for the NY Yankees and was called up to play with the team, BUT he quit and got married instead. I think that he was embarrased to be playing for the Yankees, because the entire Petrousek clan were, and still are die-hard Chicago White Sox fans!!!
Hey Lewchanin Clan!! I am so excited to see that you also love hockey!! We are HUGE hockey fans here and are so excited to see that Zach and Mady are learning to skate!! Lucas played in a little hockey program 2 years ago and learned how to skate...since then he hasn't wanted to do the organized league but likes going with Jake to Skate and Shoot when he can!! Would love to come down and see a game with you sometime!! Jake is a Ranger fan, of course, and I am a Senators fan!! Maybe we can catch a game sometime!! Keep skating!!
